She spent 2 years working in Japan and shorter periods working in Bangladesh, the US and the Netherlands. She is a Chartered Manager, has a masters in charity management, is an International Coach Federation (ICF) certified coach and a European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) accredited coach/mentor at Senior Practitioner level. She is an active member of her local church.
